The purpose of the LARP Roast is to "honor" in an amusing manner someone who has made contributions to the LARP Community in the past year, and who is a good sport.

No one can be made to be roasted if they do not care to be. However anyone who agrees to be is expected to take their Roasting in good style and help make everyone feel comfortble by being affable and friendly. They may of course give as good hell as they got in their rebuttal.

The purpose of the Roast is not to humiliate or antagonize anyone. While no Honoree is given outright "veto" power over speakers, they may be consulted, and the Committee will tend to choose speakers who will give a thorough, but good natured ribbing, and avoid any who might act out of malice rather than good fun.

Annual LARP Roast

The Roast

The Committee

The Committee is formed of all the living past Victims. Like in the Supreme Court, the Chairmanship is held by the Senior member (in order of election) until death or resignation. That is because I do not feel like holding elections. If anyone actually ever cares, we'll reconsider.

2) The Committee is jointly tasked with finding a site, and setting voting arrangements for the next year's event. Generally the Chair will be responsible for making a proposal to be approved or rejected by the Committee. Failure to reject constitutes approval.

3) Committee members who wish to be active are responsible for keeping in touch from year to year.

4) Each Honoree may propose one Silly Custom or rule which must be obeyed by everyone at the Roast. However it is subject to the veto of the entire rest of the Committee. Previous rules may not be revoked. If a rule is vetoed, the proposer may propose a new rule until something is accepted. The intention should not be to make anyone do anything particularly humiliating.

Customs or Rules

2003

A) Gordon Olmstead-Dean - the current and all past honorees shall wear hats during the Roast. The type and style of said hats is left to the individual, though there is a recommendation that they be "silly."

B) Adrienne Amerman - the company shall dress formally unless they are unable to do so. The standard of "formal" to be determined by the prevailing standard in regional LARP.

2004

Mike Young - All roastees must include a song or poem in their speech, or replies.

2005

Eric Smith - Each speaker must carry or wear a towel while speaking. If a piece is done by a group, at least one of them must bear a towel. The same is true for any rebuttal.

2006

Dirk Parham - Eac
